I woke up at 9 in the morning and I couldn't walk properly because I was terribly ill. My father said "Ya binti (My daughter) you can stop pretending to be sick now, it's already the weekend". And he laughs his big and echoing laugh. And I look him in the eyes (it was like he was looking at his reflection, I look exactly* like my father) and I say" Aba (My father), I am hovering between life and death and your presence is making jokes"...I wish I could have caught my cutting words in mid-air. His face completely changed color and he came towards me to hug me tightly and apologize, and he kept holding my head and brushing my hair out of my face like I was 10 all over again. I felt horrible for making feel horrible. He took me to the doctor and he took me to the shoe store to buy two pairs of expensive shoes, and a pair of fashionable gloves. It was guilt shopping. Ya Allah, may you forgive me and my parents, may you pardon me and parents, Ya Allah I call upon You, and You Alone, to grant me the patience to serve them in the most honorable way at during their old age. Ya Allah, they have cared for me when I was a child, therefore, allow me the patience to care for them when I am youthful and mature and they are old and weak. Ameen, my Lord, I have beseeched You just as You have commanded, now accept my prayers just as You have Promised , Surely You do not break Your Promise, Ameeen.
